Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has signed a decree titled “On Additional Measures for the Further Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies.”

The document sets out a series of strategic tasks for government bodies and sectoral organizations.

By the end of 2026, at least 100 projects are planned to promote the wide-scale adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in public administration, the social sector, and key industries of the economy.

By 2030, foreign investments exceeding one billion US dollars are expected to be attracted for the development of modern AI infrastructure.

Additionally, by the end of 2026, fifteen laboratories specializing in AI research and development will be established in higher education institutions across the country.

Before the end of the current year, the national portal ai.gov.uz will be launched, providing information on ongoing projects, startups, programs, and free online courses in the field of artificial intelligence.

Starting from 1 January 2026, the President AI Award will be launched to encourage youth engagement in AI technologies, recognizing the best AI startup initiatives.

When evaluating the digital transformation of government bodies, state-owned enterprises with 50% or more equity, and local executive authorities, the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies will be taken into account.

Based on the resulting rankings, starting from 1 March 2026, a biannual competition, “Best Project in Artificial Intelligence”, will be held among ministries and agencies implementing the most successful AI initiatives.
