Uzbekistan and Philippines hold the second round of political consultations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 September 2021, the second round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of the Philippines took place via videoconference, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
The delegations of the parties were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Siddikov and Foreign Affairs Acting Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs of the Philippines Theresa P. Lazaro.
The current state and prospects for the development of cooperation were discussed during the talks.
The parties expressed mutual readiness to maintain regular political dialogue and cultural cooperation.
Promising areas of trade-economic and investment cooperation were discussed. The Philippine side confirmed its interest in strengthening ties in agriculture, pharmaceuticals and tourism.
The sides exchanged views on the interaction of the parties within the framework of international organizations and certain regional issues.
