Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- In 10 months, Uzbekistan imported 26,500 tons of bananas worth US$17.6 million, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the State Statistics Committee, in this period from foreign countries most of all, after bananas, were imported citrus fruits (tangerines – 22,400 tonnes worth US$3.5 million and oranges – 2,700 tonnes worth US$1.7 million).

In addition, 382.4 tons of pineapples (US$258,100) and 30.2 tons of avocados (worth US$21,600) were imported.

In general, for the period January-October, imports reached US$16.73 billion. The main share in its structure was occupied by machinery and transport equipment (37.8 percent), industrial goods (17.2 percent), as well as chemicals and similar products (14 percent).
