Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan harvests about 3.82 million tons of raw cotton in 2020, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported. 

The Ministry notes that the growth compared to 2019 was 9%. At the same time, the forecast indicator for the cotton harvest was fulfilled by 99.4%.

Kashkadarya region (95.8%), Syrdarya region (93.5%), Bukhara region (89.1%) and Surkhandarya region (82.3%) were unable to fulfill the cotton harvest plan.

In 2020, cotton and textile clusters harvested 2.8 million tons of raw materials and 11 cooperatives - 288 thousand tons of products.

Farmers from each hectare harvested an average of 29.8 centners of the crop. At the same time, contracts with farmers were concluded for 30 centners of raw cotton per hectare.
