Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Pakistan’s Dewan Yousuf Group have discussed potential joint investment projects in the digital economy, sugar production and the cement industry.
The discussions took place at a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev and the group’s head, Dewan Yousuf, as part of efforts to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, the Dunyо news agency reported.
One of the main topics was cooperation in the digital economy and crypto infrastructure. Yousuf noted Uzbekistan’s potential in crypto assets and blockchain technologies and expressed interest in pursuing joint initiatives.
In particular, the Pakistani businessman proposed exploring opportunities to attract international digital asset funds, establish modern digital platforms and introduce energy-efficient technologies for cryptocurrency mining.
The sides also considered prospects for cooperation in the sugar industry. The Pakistani company is exploring the possibility of importing raw materials, including from Brazil, processing them in Uzbekistan and selling the finished products on the domestic market.
In this regard, they discussed the possibility of launching a joint project using the production facilities of the Angren Sugar Plant.
The meeting also covered cooperation in the cement industry and the development of trade and logistics links between the two countries.
Following the talks, the parties agreed that Dewan Yousuf Group would prepare detailed investment proposals.
Online consultations with relevant ministries and agencies in Uzbekistan are planned to further develop the initiatives. The sides also intend to organise a visit to Uzbekistan by a Pakistani business delegation to examine prospective projects and assess opportunities for their implementation.
