Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- On 3 November, a ceremony of signing a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of an Agro-Food Technologies Center in Ferghana region was held online, Dunyo news agency reported.
From the Uzbek side, the document was signed by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Khokim of Ferghana Region for Investments Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, from the Omani side - by the Executive Director of Atyab Foodtech Hayesam Muhammad al-Fanna.
The main activities of the "Center for Agro-Food Technologies" are such as testing of agricultural products, water, soil, fertilizers, cosmetics, chemicals and others. certification according to the standards of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), providing analytical services to the exporters in the food industry.
In order to mutually agree on the issues of equipping the Center with the necessary equipment, as well as assessing the size of financial and technical participation, it was decided to send a business development manager to Uzbekistan in the near future.
During the event, the working groups of the parties were recommended to develop and mutually agree on a target schedule for the implementation of the investment project.
