OSCE Supports Women's Digital Skills in Ferghana Training
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — More than 150 women from across the Ferghana region have successfully completed training courses in IT skills and digital marketing organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan in partnership with IT Park Uzbekistan.
The programme equipped participants with practical digital competencies aimed at supporting income generation, business development and access to online employment opportunities.
The graduation ceremony, held on 9 June 2026, brought together participants, trainers and local stakeholders to mark the completion of the programme.
Speaking at the ceremony, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan Ambassador Antti Karttunen congratulated the participants and emphasized the importance of investing in women’s digital skills.
“Today, we celebrate much more than the completion of a training course. We celebrate the determination, commitment and aspirations of these women to build a better economic future for themselves, their families and their communities,” he said.
The programme focused on expanding economic opportunities for women, particularly those living in remote districts and rural communities. Participants were trained in digital marketing fundamentals, online business promotion, e-commerce tools and essential digital skills applicable to professional and entrepreneurial activities.
For many participants, the training represented a turning point in their professional development.
One participant, Dildora Aliyeva, said the programme helped her strengthen her project in cultural and tourism experiences by improving its digital presence and audience engagement.
The initiative is part of a broader OSCE programme implemented across Uzbekistan, which has so far provided training to around 1,000 women in IT skills.
The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan stated that supporting women’s economic empowerment remains a key priority through strengthening digital literacy, entrepreneurship and access to modern technologies.
