Number of registered .UZ domains reach 7,500

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of registered .UZ domains reached 7,500, according to domain administrator Uzinfocom. About 3,450 domains were registered in 2008 and 1,700 were deleted. The growth rate made up 30% or 1,740.

In July 2008, number of registered domains in Uzbekistan comprised 7,000. The growth rate of active domains made up 2,155 or almost 60% in 2007.

Currently, seven official .UZ domain registrars operate in Uzbekistan. They are Tomas, Amaliy Aloqalar Biznesi, Sarkor Telecom, Billur Com, TV-Inform, Arsenal-D and Simus. The cost of domain is between US$16 and US$25.
