Uzbekistan Extradites Two Fugitives From Turkey

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two Uzbek nationals who had been evading justice in Turkey have been detained and returned to Uzbekistan following coordinated action between the law enforcement agencies of both countries.

The extraditions were confirmed by the press service of Uzbekistan's General Consulate in Istanbul.

The first individual, identified by initials M.B., had been sheltering in Turkey for an extended period while wanted under Article 168 of Uzbekistan's Criminal Code — covering fraud. The second, identified as Zh.B., was sought under Article 104, which pertains to the deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm.

Both men were located, detained on Turkish soil, and transferred to Uzbek authorities through established legal procedures.

They are now in the custody of competent Uzbek agencies, where investigative and judicial proceedings are underway.

The case reflects the growing operational effectiveness of bilateral law enforcement cooperation between Tashkent and Ankara, with the General Consulate in Istanbul playing a coordinating role in the handover process.
