Uzbekistan Pitches Pharma Potential at Asia-Pacific Medicine Conferences
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has taken its pharmaceutical reform agenda to the Asia-Pacific stage, sending a delegation to two high-profile international conferences focused on the quality and development of traditional medicine.
Representatives of Uzbekistan's Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry participated in both the 2nd Asia-Pacific Conference on the Quality of Traditional Medicine and the International Conference on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Herbal Medicine — two of the region's most prominent forums in the field.
At the center of Uzbekistan's pitch was a dual message: the country's growing attractiveness as an investment destination in the pharmaceutical sector, and the expanding capabilities of its Pharmaceutical Technical University as a hub for professional training and international academic collaboration.
Delegates devoted particular attention to workforce development, outlining ongoing efforts to launch joint educational programs and deepen academic exchange with foreign partner institutions — areas the government views as foundational to building a competitive domestic pharmaceutical industry.
Presentations also covered the broader reform trajectory underway in Uzbekistan's education and science sectors, framing the country's international cooperation drive as part of a systematic effort to raise the competitiveness of its specialist graduates on a global scale.
The reception was positive. Conference participants acknowledged Uzbekistan's progress in strengthening its educational and scientific base, expanding international partnerships, and upgrading the research and technical infrastructure of its flagship pharmaceutical university.
