Number of Personal Vehicles in Uzbekistan Exceeds 4.9 Million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The number of motor vehicles owned by individual citizens of Uzbekistan has demonstrated significant growth.

According to official data from the National Statistics Committee, as of 1 April 2026, there were 4,903.1 thousand units of motor vehicles registered in the republic belonging to individuals.

The absolute majority of the private vehicle fleet consists of passenger cars, the share of which reached 92.8% of the total volume.

In annual terms, the motorization rate of the population showed strong dynamics: compared to the same period in 2025, the total number of registered vehicles increased by 344.6 thousand units.

By category, the vehicles owned by individual citizens are distributed as follows: passenger cars account for 4,552.3 thousand units.

Trucks in the private sector number 330.3 thousand units.

Additionally, individuals own 7.5 thousand minibuses, 7.2 thousand units of special equipment, and 5.8 thousand buses.
