Number of mobile users doubles in Uzbekistan

The state commission said the mobile users’ number increased from 2.72 million in the beginning of 2007 to 5.372 million as of 1 December 2007. The growth rate made up 97.5% in nine months of 2007.

Mobile penetration rate made up 19.9% as of 1 December 2007.

Currently, five mobile operators operate in Uzbekistan, including MTS-Uzbekistan, Beeline, Coscom, Perfectum Mobile and Uzbektelecom Mobile.
