New economy minister appointed in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Sunatulla Bekenov was appointed as the Minister of Economy of Uzbekistan. Bekenov replaced Batir Khodjaev in the post, gazeta.uz reported.

Prior to appointment, Mr. Bekenov worked at manager of Executive Office of the Cabinet of Ministers and earlier as Finance Ministry.

Batir Khodjaev, who had headed Ministry of Economy since April 2006, was appointed as deputy prime minister and the head of Complex on communal, transport, capital construction and construction industry.
