National Bank of Uzbekistan profit reaches 603bn soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first quarter of 2026, the National Bank of Uzbekistan (NBU) recorded growth in key financial indicators, closing the period with a net profit of 603.2 billion soums. In annual terms, the figure increased by 28.9% compared to 467.9 billion soums in the same period of 2025.

Total assets reached 145.1 trillion soums, up 5.9% year-on-year. Capital increased to 20.6 trillion soums, rising by 6.4%, while total income amounted to 7.3 trillion soums, which is 11.0% higher than a year earlier.

Profit over the last 12 months reached 2.1 trillion soums, increasing by 19.1%.

The provision for expected credit losses declined to 2.5 trillion soums, down 5.2% year-on-year. The loan portfolio as of the beginning of March amounted to 106.6 trillion soums, showing a slight decrease of 1.4%.

The share of non-performing loans (NPLs) fell from 3.7% to 3.3%, indicating an improvement in the quality of the credit portfolio.

Against the backdrop of results from other major banks, the sector continues to demonstrate stable profitability, moderate asset growth, and a gradual reduction in credit risks.
