MTS-Uzbekistan attracts 1m users in 2007

The report said about 1 million new subscribers joined MTS-Uzbekistan in 2007.

Beeline, former Unitel, said on its advertisement on Uzbek TV that it serves over 2 million subscribers now.

Currently, five mobile operators operate in Uzbekistan, including MTS-Uzbekistan, Beeline, Coscom (all GSM operators), Perefectum Mobile and Uzbektelecom Mobile (both CDMA operators).

According to estimates of the Uzbek State Committee on Demonopolization, three GSM operators control about 95% shares of mobile market of Uzbekistan.
