MPs pass draft law “On order of serving of administrative arrest” in first reading

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan adopted a draft law “On order of serving of administrative arrest” in the first reading.

The document envisages legal status of special receivers for detention of persons, subject to administrative arrest, the order of their reception, detention and release, rights and duties, disciplinary measures and other rules relating to the execution of administrative arrest.

Adoption of the document will strengthen the protection of the rights and freedoms of detainees, ensure single practice of serving administrative detention, enhancing the effectiveness of law-enforcement bodies and the responsibility of their employees in the sphere.
