Monuments of Navoi and Jami to be erected in the parks of Samarkand and Dushanbe

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Monuments to Alisher Navoi and Abdurakhman Jami will appear in the parks of Samarkand and Dushanbe.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed an order on 5 March to rename the park "50-sowadiya chavonon" in Dushanbe to the park "Nizomiddin Alisher Navoi".

In the park there will be monuments to the thinkers and poets Nuriddin Abdurahmoni Jomi and Nizomiddin Alisher Navoi "as a sign of friendship between the peoples of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan."

It should be noted that a monument to Alisher Navoi and Abdurrahman Jami will also be erected in Samarkand at the intersection of Amir Temur and Abdurrahman Jami streets.
