Uzbekistan, Iran Discuss Cooperation and Middle East Situation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss bilateral cooperation and current international issues.

The meeting took place on 24 July 2026. The two foreign ministers expressed concern over continuing tensions in the Middle East, stressing the importance of restraint and the resumption of dialogue.

During the talks, the two sides reviewed prospects for further developing multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Iran. Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in trade, transport and logistics, as well as other priority areas.

Bakhtiyor Saidov and Abbas Araghchi also reaffirmed their readiness to continue close and trusted dialogue within international organisations.
