Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met a Saudi Arabian delegation led by Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel on 28 July to discuss healthcare cooperation and preparations for new joint projects.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minister conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek president from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
The sides noted the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in recent years. They also highlighted the successful implementation of major joint projects with Saudi company ACWA.
During the visit, talks were also held with executives of leading Saudi companies, resulting in relevant agreements.
The meeting focused on the digitalization and modernization of Uzbekistan’s healthcare system, regulation of the pharmaceutical sector and the training of qualified specialists. The construction of a multidisciplinary clinic in Uzbekistan was also discussed.
The sides agreed to develop and adopt a “roadmap” outlining the implementation of new joint projects and initiatives.
