Mirziyoyev Reviews “Yangi Uzbekistan” Project in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev began his visit to the Ferghana region by reviewing construction progress at the “Yangi Uzbekistan” residential complex in the city of Kokand.
The country continues efforts to improve housing conditions and introduce modern urban planning standards across the regions.
One of the key priorities remains the implementation of “Yangi Uzbekistan” residential projects, which play an important role among social initiatives aimed at improving living standards.
The new residential complex in Kokand is being developed as a modern urban center, gradually transforming the economic and social landscape of the Ferghana region.
The city is traditionally characterized by high population density and active entrepreneurship, which drives steady demand for housing. Limited existing infrastructure and housing stock require urban expansion based on modern planning solutions.
The project is being implemented in line with instructions given by the President during his visit to the region two years ago. Total investment amounts to 1.85 trillion soums. The development is designed to accommodate around 25,000 residents with a fully integrated infrastructure system.
The project includes the construction of 84 apartment buildings, as well as social and public infrastructure facilities such as schools, kindergartens, a higher education institution, a business center, a shopping complex, and recreational areas.
This approach is designed to ensure that residents can live, work, study, and access essential services within a single district.
At present, the first phase of the project has been completed. A total of 56 ten-story residential buildings have been commissioned, comprising 4,394 apartments. The housing is being provided with finished interiors on mortgage terms with a 35 percent down payment, a 16 percent annual interest rate, and a 20-year repayment period.
The President visited one of the newly built apartments and reviewed living conditions, emphasizing the social importance of such projects. He noted that residential developments of this kind should not only improve living standards but also contribute to shaping a modern lifestyle and mindset.
During the visit, a meeting was also held with representatives of the elderly population of the Ferghana region. They highlighted ongoing improvements in social infrastructure, the construction of modern schools and healthcare facilities, the upgrading of mahallas, the launch of new enterprises, and expanded opportunities for entrepreneurship.
At the conclusion of the visit, plans for the second phase of the “Yangi Uzbekistan” housing project and further development of Kokand city were presented to the President.
