Mirziyoyev gifts Trump traditional Uzbek ayvans

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has given US President Donald Trump traditional Uzbek ayvans that are planned to be installed in West Potomac Park in Washington, The New York Times reported.

The gift is intended for the future National Garden of American Heroes, according to The New York Times.

The US Department of the Interior confirmed that Mirziyoyev had presented the ayvans to Trump. The US president accepted the gift on behalf of the American people.

Visitors are expected to be able to see the traditional structures in the park as early as autumn. In Uzbekistan, ayvans are a traditional feature of parks and are known for their intricate wood carvings, the publication said.

The National Garden of American Heroes is still in the development stage. Under Trump’s concept, the site is planned to feature about 250 full-size statues of prominent Americans, as well as pools, restaurants and an amphitheater.

The ayvans are expected to form part of the future park space in Washington.
