MEDEF International delegation discusses investment projects with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 January 2025, a delegation of French entrepreneurs, led by Claude Imowen, a senior representative of MEDEF International, met with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov.

MEDEF International (Mouvement des Entreprises de France International) is the largest French business association, facilitating the expansion of French companies into global markets. The organization plays a key role in strengthening France’s economic and trade relations with over 120 countries worldwide.

The meeting was attended by representatives of leading French companies, including Societe Generale, VEOLIA, Iveco Bus, EDF International Networks, Eiffage International, SUEZ, Voltalia, Orano, Airbus, Aéroports de Paris, TotalEnergies Renewables Uzbekistan, ALSTOM, Egis, and others. Uzbek government officials and representatives of major Uzbek companies also participated in the discussions.

The talks focused on key areas of cooperation, including:

Public-Private Partnerships (PPP): Expanding collaboration on infrastructure projects;

Sustainable Economic Growth: Introducing eco-friendly technologies, improving energy efficiency, and promoting the green economy;

Energy Sector: Modernizing heating systems, developing hydropower, and enhancing electricity supply networks;

Transport and Road Infrastructure: Upgrading airports, improving transportation networks, and constructing modern highways;

Agriculture and Water Management: Implementing irrigation projects, optimizing water resource management, and improving drinking water supply systems;

Private Sector Support: Expanding financial instruments for businesses, privatizing state enterprises, and advancing economic reforms.

Both sides expressed their commitment to leveraging international expertise, integrating innovative solutions, and developing projects aligned with global trends.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation, expand joint initiatives, and continue exchanging ideas for future projects.
