Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — JSC O‘zbekgidroenergo discussed prospects for cooperation with South Korean company Kumsung Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., which specializes in hydropower. This was reported by O‘zbekgidroenergo.
A company delegation led by Chairman of the Board Islam Abdurakhmonov reviewed a presentation by Kumsung Engineering & Construction. Representatives of the Korean company presented its main areas of activity, production capacities and technological capabilities, product catalogue, as well as proposals for developing small and micro hydropower.
During the presentation and practical negotiations, particular attention was paid to adapting Korean technologies for the construction of small and micro hydropower plants to Uzbekistan’s conditions. The sides also considered opportunities to effectively use the energy potential of existing irrigation networks and hydraulic structures.
In addition, the sides discussed prospects for producing modern hydropower units in Uzbekistan, developing the relevant technologies and implementing joint practical projects.
The O‘zbekgidroenergo delegation also included representatives of JSC Gidroproekt, Uzhydropower plant, the National Research University Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME), and the teaching staff of Tashkent State Technical University.
Their participation made it possible to consider prospects for cooperation from production, engineering and scientific-technical perspectives, as well as assess the possibilities of adapting Kumsung Engineering & Construction’s technological solutions to the needs of Uzbekistan’s hydropower sector.
Following the meeting, the sides identified further areas of cooperation and continuation of practical interaction.
