Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Abdulla Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan's Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, held talks with Ramesh Juneja, Chairman of one of India's largest pharmaceutical companies, Mankind Pharma, during an official visit to India.

The sides discussed prospects for implementing investment projects and expanding cooperation in Uzbekistan's pharmaceutical sector.

The meeting focused on the production of modern medicines, the development of research and development (R&D) and innovation, technology transfer, and the establishment of high-tech manufacturing facilities with high added value.

Representatives of Mankind Pharma were also presented with the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster concept. The presentation covered the project's opportunities, conditions for foreign investors, and the tax and customs incentives available for investment projects.

The company's management gave a positive assessment of the conditions created for the development of Uzbekistan's pharmaceutical industry and expressed interest in jointly exploring specific areas of investment cooperation and implementing prospective projects.

Founded in 1995, Mankind Pharma is one of India's largest pharmaceutical companies. It manufactures prescription and over-the-counter medicines as well as consumer healthcare products, exporting its products to more than 70 countries.
