Kazakh border guards detain over 50 Uzbek illegal migrants in south

Kazakh border guards have detained a group of illegal migrants from Uzbekistan in South Kazakhstan Region (SKR).
The Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency learnt at the press service of the Kazakh National Security Committee (NSC) that 53 Uzbek citizens, crossing the Kazakh border bypassing checkpoints, were detained on 16 September.
The detainees said they had arrived in Kazakhstan to seek jobs, the
press service said. Currently, all the detainees are at the Maktaaral district police department in the SKR.
