Karakalpakstan’s economy grows by 8% in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross regional product (GRP) of Karakalpakstan Republic increased by 9% in nine months of 2010.

Industrial output rose by 9.9%, agriculture output – 13%, consumer goods production – 13.8%, trade turnover – 20% and services – 10.3%.

Karakalpakstan Republic attracted financial resources for 316.3 billion soums due to active investment policy in modernization of industries and re-equipment of enterprises.

In the result of support of exporter-enterprises, the exports of Karakalpakstan Republic rose by 14% in the reporting period.

Share of small and private businesses in gross regional produced made up 60.7%.
