Japan’s Willer Express to Hire Uzbek Bus Drivers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Japan’s major transport company Willer Express, a leading operator of passenger and tourist bus services, has expressed interest in recruiting bus drivers from Uzbekistan. The company operates across Japan, covering routes from northern to southern regions.

The initiative is being implemented with the participation of Onodera User Run, one of Japan’s leading organizations specializing in training and employment of international specialists. It serves as an intermediary, facilitating the project’s entry into the Uzbek market and organizing workforce training.

Under a trilateral agreement signed between the Agency for Migration, Willer Express representative Koji Hirayama, and Onodera User Run representative Jun Kato, a comprehensive cooperation program has been established.

According to the agreement, a structured training system for bus drivers will be created in Uzbekistan, followed by employment opportunities in Japan with competitive salaries. A modern training ground is planned to be built in Tashkent for practical instruction.

The project also includes the use of specialized equipment. Japan will supply right-hand drive buses to simulate real driving conditions in Japan, allowing trainees to adapt to the country’s traffic system.

The initiative is seen as a step toward expanding overseas employment opportunities for Uzbek specialists and strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in organized labor migration.
