Japan falls against Uzbekistan in Davis Cup zonal clash

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Satoshi Iwabuchi and partner Takao Suzuki were handed defeat in their doubles match against Uzbekistan as Japan crashed out in the third round of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group I on Saturday.

Farrukh Dustov and Denis Istomin prevailed 6-7 (7-9), 6-3, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-3 over the Japanese pair.

On Friday, Japan dropped the first singles matches. Uzbekistan advanced to a World Group promotion/relegation playoff.

Japanese ace Kei Nishikori missed the event with a sore right elbow.
