Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek mixed martial arts fighter Makhmud Muradov became the new Oktagon light heavyweight champion after securing a stoppage win over Ireland's Will Fleury at the Oktagon 92 tournament.

The bout served as the co-main event of the tournament held in Prague. It marked the light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) division debut for the 36-year-old Muradov.

The five-round title fight ended early in the second round when Muradov knocked out his opponent to claim the championship belt.

With the victory, the Uzbek athlete took the title from Will Fleury to become the new Oktagon light heavyweight champion.

In his previous bout, Muradov won the interim middleweight championship belt.

Since departing the UFC, Muradov has won all four of his fights. His professional record stands at 30 wins, eight losses, and one no-contest.

For the 37-year-old Will Fleury, the defeat was his first following a six-fight winning streak.

Despite losing the light heavyweight title, the Irish fighter retains the Oktagon heavyweight championship belt. Over his professional career, Fleury has secured 17 wins, suffered four losses, and had one fight end in a no-contest.
