IT Park Uzbekistan and Resident Companies Formulate Industry Growth Initiatives

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The leadership of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and representatives of the IT Park Uzbekistan directorate held an expanded meeting with the executives of resident companies.

The event was organized as part of preparations for the upcoming sixth meeting between the Head of State and entrepreneurs. The primary objective of this open dialogue was to identify the current needs of tech businesses and shape initiatives aimed at the systemic development of the domestic IT industry and the optimization of the overall business climate.

Central to the discussions were the practical aspects of launching the "Enterprise Uzbekistan" special program and the specific expectations of the business community regarding this project. The parties also paid close attention to mechanisms for attracting foreign specialists. In particular, concrete measures were discussed to improve the application processes for the IT Visa, alongside simplifying procedures for issuing and extending the validity periods of IT Cards.

A significant portion of the session focused on stimulating regional technology companies. Business representatives proposed updating the terms of the existing Zero Risk program. It was suggested to expand this support measure by including residents' expenses for online training delivered by international mentors, as well as the funding of specialized educational courses within the domestic market, under the list of state-reimbursed costs.

In line with the implementation of Presidential Resolution No. 189, the participants reviewed technology projects geared toward import substitution and operational cost reduction. Discussions covered the prospects of deploying the GPU Cluster computing cluster and establishing local manufacturing facilities for electronic circuit boards within Uzbekistan.

Additionally, IT company executives outlined priority areas for upgrading digital infrastructure. During the session, the parties considered mechanisms to increase the fault tolerance of data storage systems, expand the legal and technical capabilities of utilizing global platforms and foreign data centers, and provide domestic startups with guaranteed access to the computing resources and financial services of international data centers.

All proposals brought forward during the meeting will be systematized and fully elaborated for subsequent inclusion in the final package of initiatives to be presented to the President of the Republic.
