Iran Calls for Ceasefire and Dialogue in Regional Statement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tashkent has issued a statement emphasizing the need for an immediate end to hostilities and a transition to a sustainable ceasefire as a key condition for stabilizing the situation in the region and beyond.

The statement says Tehran views the establishment of verifiable mechanisms to prevent the recurrence of crisis as an urgent priority on the current agenda. According to the Iranian position, continued military actions are not capable of resolving existing problems and only increase the risk of spreading instability and triggering a chain reaction of crises.

Iran said it has presented a multilateral plan for ending hostilities with specific implementation timelines.

The statement notes that a response from the other side has already been received through diplomatic channels and is currently under review. A final position will be announced after the analysis is completed, while emphasizing the need for all parties to adhere to commitments and avoid coercive approaches.

The document also includes criticism of sanctions policies, pressure, and unilateral actions. According to Tehran, such measures have not led to crisis resolution and have instead increased mistrust and complicated the international situation. It claims that reliance solely on force and political pressure has historically failed to ensure sustainable stability.

The embassy also rejected accusations regarding Iran’s destabilizing role in the region and reaffirmed its commitment to diplomatic and political solutions. At the same time, the document states that Israel’s actions are one of the key factors contributing to regional escalation and require a response under international law.

A separate section of the statement addresses the situation in Palestinian and Lebanese territories. Iran called on the international community to take more active steps to end violence, protect civilians, and ensure unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, stating that the current situation poses a threat to global security.

Tehran also stressed that sustainable settlement is possible only through regional cooperation without external interference. In this context, the statement criticizes the role of the United States, which it accuses of contributing to rising regional tensions through a policy of pressure.

Iran urged international organizations, including the United Nations, to play a more active and impartial role in preventing escalation of conflicts and violations of international law. It warned that inaction or double standards could lead to further spread of violence and abuses, including war crimes.

In conclusion, the embassy reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to active diplomacy, cooperation with regional countries, and opposition to coercive methods, stressing that long-term stability and development can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect, and collective efforts.
