Media Report Possible Delivery of J-10CE Jets to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Foreign military publications have reported on the possible delivery of four more Chinese J-10CE multirole fighter jets to Uzbekistan. However, there is currently no official confirmation of this information.
According to Defense Security Asia, this may involve a second batch of aircraft under a contract providing for the delivery of 24 Chinese fighter jets.
First reports regarding a possible purchase of modern Chinese combat aircraft by Uzbekistan appeared in the spring of 2025.
At that time, foreign media reported on the country's intention to update its military aviation fleet, although the specific model was not named. Later, several specialized military publications reported that this could involve J-10CE fighter jets.
At the same time, French defense publication Meta-Defense notes that until official statements or independent satellite images appear, speaking of a delivery of a new batch of aircraft is premature.
According to military observers, Uzbekistan's interest in Chinese aviation equipment is linked to the need to modernize its combat aviation. The core of the country's fleet continues to consist of Soviet MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters, a significant portion of which has been operated for several decades, while their maintenance is complicated by issues with parts supply and repairs.
The J-10CE is a modern 4++ generation multirole fighter jet. Equipped with an active electronically scanned array radar, the aircraft is capable of employing modern weapons systems and is one of the key export models of the Chinese aviation industry.
As noted in the publication, the potential acquisition of the J-10CE aligns with Uzbekistan's course toward developing military-technical cooperation with China. In particular, the republic previously acquired Chinese air defense missile systems HQ-9B, FM-90, and KS-1C in 2015.
At present, reports regarding the possible delivery of a new batch of J-10CE fighter jets remain unconfirmed.
