Egyptian Company Friends Explores Construction Projects in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Egyptian construction and engineering firm Friends for Engineering & Contracting to discuss prospects for implementing investment projects in the construction sector, Dunyo Information Agency reports.
Commercial Director Muhammad Sultan and Business Development Manager Wael Abu Bakr represented the company at the talks.
Company representatives noted ongoing socio-economic reforms and the favorable investment climate in Uzbekistan, expressing interest in entering the Uzbek market, making direct investments, and implementing modern engineering and construction solutions.
The parties considered cooperation opportunities in constructing hotels, residential complexes, and infrastructure facilities in Uzbekistan.
The company proposed a project execution model under which the Uzbek side provides land plots, while Friends for Engineering & Contracting handles design, construction, and financing using its own investment resources.
Following the meeting, representatives of the Egyptian firm expressed readiness to conduct direct negotiations and online meetings with the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy of Uzbekistan, as well as regional and municipal khokimiyats to discuss projects in detail and prepare concrete investment proposals.
