Toyota Central Asia Supports Saxaul Planting in Aral Sea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Toyota Central Asia has provided charitable funding to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to plant 5,000 saxaul seedlings on the dried bed of the Aral Sea as part of the Green Aral Sea crowdfunding project.

The initiative aims to restore the environmental resilience of the dried Aral Sea bed, reduce the spread of toxic dust and create healthier living conditions for local communities.

UNDP said Toyota Central Asia's support is aligned with the project's goals of addressing the impacts of climate change and protecting the environment.

The partnership with the company is viewed as an example of private sector participation in environmental initiatives and efforts to strengthen the region's climate resilience.

The Green Aral Sea project seeks to mobilize additional resources for restoring the Aral region's ecosystem and involves the participation of various partners in environmental conservation activities.
