Sharjah Charity Foundation to Consider Projects for Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates Umid Shodiev held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Charity International (SCI) Muhammad Rashid Beyat.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop funding for social projects in Uzbekistan through grant funds, Dunyo Information Agency reports.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side presented information on ongoing reforms in social support, the introduction of a transparent digital system for providing social services, and state programs aimed at human capital development.

Special attention was given to priority projects planned for implementation in Uzbekistan. These cover education, healthcare, improving the population's drinking water supply systems, and developing social infrastructure.

SCI representatives shared that the organization was established in 1989 on the initiative of the Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi.

Currently, it implements humanitarian projects in more than 100 countries worldwide in the fields of social protection, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached that SCI will select projects eligible for grant funding.

In addition, the parties agreed to organize a visit of the organization's leadership and specialists to Uzbekistan in September–October 2026 to sign the relevant grant allocation agreements.

According to Dunyo IA, the meeting marked another step forward in expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates in the social and humanitarian spheres, as well as in attracting international grant funding for social projects.
