Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Italy discuss bilateral relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov held a meeting with his Italian colleague Franco Frattini on 4 October 2010, Italian Foreign Ministry said.

During the warm meeting, the sides discussed bilateral political and economic cooperation, the ministry’s statement said.

On the eve of the session of the Uzbek-Italian intergovernmental commission, which will be held in Tashkent in January 2011, the sides considered issues of deepening cooperation in high technological industries, transport and energy sectors.

Ministers also discussed cooperation between the European Union and Uzbekistan within the EU Strategy for Central Asia and regional issues, including situation in Afghanistan.
