Uzbekistan and Serbia Strengthen Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting of members of the inter-parliamentary cooperation groups of Uzbekistan and Serbia was held in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, as well as exchanged views on the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
The importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation as a key component of interstate relations was noted. The need to intensify dialogue between relevant committees and cooperation groups was emphasized, along with expanding the exchange of experience in legislation, parliamentary oversight, and analytical work.
Special attention was given to prospects for trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects in industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, transport and logistics, tourism, and information and communication technologies.
Proposals were also put forward to expand cultural and humanitarian cooperation, strengthen ties between higher education institutions, organize a forum of rectors of Uzbekistan and Serbia, and hold cultural days, a film week, and other joint events.
