Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan receives Ambassador of Azerbaijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev, on 7 July 2026, as the diplomat concludes his diplomatic mission in the country.

As the Foreign Minister reported on his Telegram channel, during the meeting, sincere appreciation was expressed to the diplomat for his significant contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan throughout his fourteen years of service in the republic.

According to the minister, over the years of his activity, Huseyn Guliyev earned deep respect not only as the representative of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan but also as the doyen of the diplomatic corps.

Bakhtiyor Saidov noted that the ambassador's merits in developing Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations received high praise in Uzbekistan. He has been honored with two state awards—the "Dostlik" (Friendship) and "Mehnat Shuhrati" (Glory of Labor) orders—as recognition of his many years of fruitful activity.

The minister also thanked Huseyn Guliyev for his work in advancing bilateral cooperation and wished him robust health, family well-being, and future success.

Earlier, on 22 June 2026, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received Huseyn Guliyev and personally presented him with the "Mehnat Shuhrati" order for his major contributions to strengthening the ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
