Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A fire that broke out in a three-story shopping complex in Jizzakh on 17 May was quickly extinguished by emergency services, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The incident occurred in the Sayiljoyi mahalla on Sharaf Rashidov Street. The emergency call was received via the 112 system at 11:21.

According to the ministry, the fire started on the second floor of a clothing store. Two rescue teams arrived at the scene within minutes and immediately began firefighting operations.

The fire was localized at 11:27 and fully extinguished by 11:37. The total affected area was approximately 15 square meters. The interior finishing of the premises and part of the merchandise were damaged.

Thanks to the rapid response of emergency services, the spread of the fire to other parts of the complex was prevented, minimizing overall damage to the building.

No injuries have been reported. Specialists are currently working to determine the cause of the fire and assess the total material damage.
