Ferghana Reviews Medical Waste-to-Energy Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ferghana region governor Khayrullo Bozorov held a meeting with Stanislav Kushnir, founder of the US company Sayat LLC, to discuss the implementation of an investment project aimed at producing alternative thermal energy through the utilization of medical waste.
The American company Sayat LLC specializes in building facilities that convert medical waste into thermal energy. The project is being implemented in accordance with a presidential decree of Uzbekistan on measures to develop this sector.
Construction of such facilities is already underway at medical institutions in Tashkent, as well as in the Samarkand and Bukhara regions.
According to the plans, in the second phase scheduled for 2026–2030, similar stations will be introduced in other regions of the country. The project, implemented jointly with Sayat Green, envisions environmentally safe disposal of medical waste alongside the production of thermal energy.
During the talks, the parties reviewed organizational and technical aspects of the initiative. The regional governor emphasized the environmental importance of the project and expressed readiness of local authorities to provide comprehensive support for its implementation.
Following the meeting, instructions were issued to relevant organizations to assist investors, and an agreement was reached to accelerate the practical implementation of the project.
