Ferghana region khokim discusses cross-border cooperation with OSCE envoy
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Khokim of Ferghana region Khairullo Bozorov held an official meeting with Serge Roumin, Special Representative of the Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
The foreign guest arrived in the region to participate in the international seminar "Cross-Border Cooperation Initiative of Young Peacekeepers." Eldor Aripov, director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, also took part in the negotiation process.
The parties discussed in detail the interim results of holding the youth forum in Ferghana and outlined strategic directions for deepening multilateral regional interaction.
During the conversation, Serge Roumin expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side and specifically noted the high organizational level of the international event.
According to the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, this discussion forum makes a significant practical contribution to the processes of strengthening long-term peace, mutual trust, and institutions of good neighborliness in the Central Asian region. In turn, the head of the regional administration, Khairullo Bozorov, emphasized that current relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the OSCE demonstrate an unprecedentedly high dynamic of development at all levels.
The meeting participants stated that thanks to the consistent foreign policy initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, friendly ties with neighboring states are being systematically strengthened in the region. Ensuring regional stability, the inviolability of peace, and sustainable development remains a key and priority task for Tashkent.
As part of the European delegation's visit, detailed information was presented on the practical measures implemented by the leadership of the republic to strengthen the integration of border territories. Following the official meeting, the parties recorded the achievement of clear agreements defining long-term prospects and new formats of mutual cooperation between Uzbekistan and OSCE structures.
