Ferghana delegation studies Belarus agribusiness potential

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from the Ferghana region of Uzbekistan is on a working visit to the Gomel region of Belarus, where it is learning about the industrial and agro-industrial potential of the country's southeastern area.

The main focus of the program is placed on studying experience in livestock breeding, crop production, and agricultural product processing.

During the visit, representatives of Uzbekistan are visiting enterprises in the Mozyr, Zhlobin, and Zhitkovichi districts.

The parties are discussing issues of cattle breeding, the development of pedigree livestock farming, and modern technologies in crop production.

In the Mozyr district, the delegation familiarized itself with the operations of the Zarya state farm-combine and the Krinichnaya experimental base, where modern approaches to organizing agricultural production and achieved results were presented.

In the Zhlobin district, the guests visited the Paporotnoye-Agro enterprise, which is part of the Belarusian Steel Works holding and specializes in meat and dairy livestock farming and crop production. The delegation was shown a new dairy complex, which opened in April of the current year.

As the chairman of the Zhlobin District Executive Committee, Sergey Yaretz, reported, the complex is designed to house 750–760 head of dairy cows. It includes two barns, a milking and dairy block, calf housing units, feed storage facilities, and a utility block.

The automated production process management system implemented at the enterprise aroused particular interest from the Uzbek delegation. Specialized software allows for the monitoring of animal care and tracking of their condition, minimizing the impact of the human factor.

In addition, in the Zhlobin district, the guests visited the agro-town of Bobovka, where another new-generation dairy farm is being built, as well as a garment factory and a meat processing plant.

In the Zhitkovichi district, representatives of the Ferghana region, led by Khokim Khairullo Bozarov, familiarized themselves with the activities of Turovshchina JSC, the farm of Mikhail Shrub, and a number of industrial enterprises.

The visit program also includes familiarization with the processing industry of the Gomel region and the range of manufactured products.
