Drug Trafficking Participants Sentenced in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Criminal Court of Bekabad city has issued a verdict against a group of individuals found guilty of illegal drug trafficking.
According to case materials, a woman born in 1999 and residing in Bekabad district of Tashkent region, previously convicted under several articles of the Criminal Code, agreed in July 2025 with a drug trafficker from a neighboring country to purchase 1 kg of hashish for US$6,000 for further transportation into Uzbekistan.
Later, she received coordinates via WhatsApp indicating the location where the narcotic substance had been left. Together with two accomplices previously convicted of drug-related crimes, she went to Bekabad district to retrieve it.
During the seizure of the narcotic substance, they were detained by officers of the State Security Service and customs authorities. According to forensic examination, the net weight of the seized substance was 985 grams.
The investigation also established that the accused, together with a 1993-born accomplice, had rented an apartment in Bekabad and organized a drug den for storage and consumption of narcotics.
By decision of the Criminal Court of Bekabad city, all defendants were found guilty under relevant articles of the Criminal Code and sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 8 years 3 months to 10 years 6 months.
