Dmitry Guberniev expresses apology to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Sport commentator of “Russia” television channel Dmitry Guberniev publically expressed apology to people of Uzbekistan for his mistake.

On 7 February, commenting opening ceremony of Olympic Games in Sochi Gubernev named national team of Uzbekistan as Tajikistan.

On 8 February, on his official website the commentator expressed his apology for this mistake. “Dear people of Uzbekistan! I express my apology for mistake during commenting of the opening ceremony of Olympic Games in Sochi. In future, I will be careful. I wish good luck to your athletes,” the message reads.

The mistake of the commentator was negatively received at the social media as many communities against him were created.
