Davis Cup: Uzbekistan secures berth in World Group play-offs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan have secured a berth in the World Group play-offs after taking an unassailable 3-0 lead over India in their Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Group I semifinal in Namangan.

Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin paired with Murod Inoyatov to defeat favourites Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna in four sets - 7-6(4), 6-4, 3-6 и 6-3. This win ensured victory of Uzbekistan in the tie.

Uzbekistan is playing its 19th season in Davis Cup this year and previously reached World Group play-offs in five occasions.
