Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Centrum Air has commented on the delay of flight C6302 from Istanbul to Tashkent, saying the flight was delayed by 3 hours and 20 minutes on 17 September due to an additional aircraft inspection identified during preparations for departure. The airline made the statement in an official comment.
According to a Centrum Air representative, passenger and crew safety was the company’s priority in the situation, prompting a decision to delay the flight until all necessary checks had been completed.
The airline said all passengers were informed of the change in departure time by email and SMS, while the relevant information was also published through the company’s official channels.
Centrum Air said that 80% of all its flights operated on schedule in August-September 2026. According to the company’s representative, individual delays, including the C6302 incident, were related to compliance with established flight safety and aircraft maintenance requirements.
The airline stressed that Centrum Air follows strict flight safety standards and that flight delays are not something the company seeks, while the safety of passengers and crew always remains its top priority.
According to the company representative, such decisions are made based on professional risk assessments and safety requirements, while the amount, terms and procedure for compensation measures will be determined in accordance with the airline’s official policy.
Earlier, Uzbekistan’s Competition Development and Consumer Protection Committee said it had taken the C6302 delay under control and was conducting an investigation following an appeal submitted amid social media reports about the delay and passenger dissatisfaction.
According to the agency, more than 270 complaints related to dissatisfaction with the services of Centrum Air and other airlines have been received to date. In response, the Committee has repeatedly submitted proposals to the Ministry of Transport to introduce monetary compensation for passengers in cases where flight delays are caused by an airline.
