CCI Discusses Expanding Exports to Afghanistan via Termez International Trade Center
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Uzbekistan hosted a roundtable discussion focused on the accelerated expansion of export capabilities for domestic businesses and increasing shipments to the Afghan market.
The discussion was attended by leaders of the republic's prominent sectoral associations, major entrepreneurs, and the management of the "Termez International Trade Center" LLC.
The primary emphasis during the talks was placed on increasing the volume of Uzbek product shipments, broadening the product range, strengthening the presence of local brands in the neighboring market, and generating new trade supply chains for the private sector.
Participants highlighted that regular specialized exhibitions and trade fairs, organized under the initiative of the CCI at the Termez International Trade Center, serve as an effective driver for domestic companies entering foreign markets, strengthening cross-border business ties, and boosting overall trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, entrepreneurs were presented with a detailed report on the current operational activities and infrastructural capacity of the Center. The authors of the presentation paid special attention to ongoing measures aimed at increasing export indicators, creating highly comfortable and secure conditions for foreign buyers, enhancing the overall investment attractiveness of the border zone, and modernizing logistics facilities.
To practically consolidate the position of Uzbek businesses in the Afghan market, manufacturers were invited to launch new initiatives. Specifically, there are plans to set up permanent demonstration showrooms on the territory of the Center. This will allow exporters to showcase their goods to target audiences on a regular basis and promptly conclude direct foreign trade contracts.
