Business Climate Improves in Three Regions of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Entrepreneurs in Bukhara, Navoi and Samarkand regions reported improved business conditions in the second quarter of 2026, according to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

The business sentiment survey showed that 69% of respondents in the three regions reported an improvement in the business environment. At the same time, entrepreneurs reported positive trends in several key indicators of economic activity.

The share of entrepreneurs who recorded an increase in the volume of orders reached 64%, up 11 percentage points from the previous period. Meanwhile, 58% of respondents reported higher production volumes, an increase of 6 percentage points compared with the previous reading.

Positive dynamics were also recorded in other indicators. The share of entrepreneurs reporting increased fuel and energy consumption rose by 7 percentage points compared with the previous year. The proportion of businesses reporting an increase in freight transportation volumes grew by 9 percentage points.

Entrepreneurs also maintained positive expectations for the next quarter. Some 60% of respondents expect order volumes to increase, while the same share anticipate higher fuel and energy consumption.

Overall, entrepreneurs expect the main indicators of economic activity to increase by an average of more than 55% in the next quarter.

Business expectations also remain positive over a longer-term horizon. Some 84% of surveyed entrepreneurs said they are confident that economic conditions and the business environment in Uzbekistan will improve over the next three years.
