Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Russia's Primorye Territory has visited Ferghana and Tashkent to discuss expanding trade and economic cooperation with Uzbekistan, including the establishment of trade and distribution centres, improved logistics, direct air links and joint industrial projects, Dunyo News Agency reported.

The Russian delegation included Konstantin Sidorenko, Primorye's minister for international and foreign economic relations; Sergey Kalitin, minister of industry and trade; and Natalya Naboychenko, minister of tourism, as well as business representatives and officials from relevant agencies. The visit was organised with the assistance of Uzbekistan's Consulate General.

During a meeting with Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, the parties discussed increasing supplies of products from the region to the Russian market and establishing a trade house and trade distribution centre in Primorye. They also considered the possibility of launching direct flights between Ferghana and Primorye and expanding tourism and humanitarian ties.

The discussions also covered the signing of a cooperation memorandum and the organisation of Ferghana Region Culture Days in Primorye in 2027.

At meetings with representatives of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the sides explored plans to establish an Uzbek trade house, distribution centre and showroom for national products in Primorye. Other proposals included organising trade fairs, exchanging business delegations and holding a business forum in Vladivostok.

Potential areas for industrial cooperation include the joint production of solar panels and electrical equipment involving Uzbek entrepreneurs.

The delegation also held separate talks with representatives of the online marketplace Uzum Market. The parties agreed to explore the possibility of selling products from Primorye-based manufacturers through the platform. Potential products include seafood, dietary supplements, oils, household chemicals and other non-food goods.

As part of the visit, the head of Chemix Group toured concrete structure manufacturers in Ferghana Region, including Besh Bola Beton, Hadid Beton, Turon Beton and Megabeton. Following the visits, the parties agreed to establish mutually beneficial cooperation.

The initiatives discussed are intended to increase exports of Uzbek products to Russia, strengthen interregional ties and promote joint industrial and trade projects.
