Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Belgian company Daybreak Travel to discuss prospects for promoting the tourism potential of the republic in the markets of Belgium and Luxembourg, Dunyo news agency reports.

The parties focused their attention on developing cooperation with local tourism operators and expanding the presence of Uzbekistan's travel offerings on the European market.

Representatives of the Belgian company expressed interest in expanding their travel destinations and noted the potential of including Uzbekistan in combined routes connected with China and the historic Great Silk Road.

In particular, the sides discussed the possibility of developing joint tourism products that include visits to China as well as the historic cities of Uzbekistan — Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue practical interaction, including the exchange of information on tourism events, the development of contacts between tour operators, and the elaboration of joint tourist routes.
